Becoming Children Of God

You can only be young once, but you can be immature forever

In the Bible, our Lord speaks frequently about children and being childlike: "Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Mark 10:14). We are also told that, "To all who receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave power to become children of God" (John 1:12). As adults we have a tendency to overanalyze everything and live our lives on the basis of logic. In comparison, children trust completely in their parents or guardian, and they depend on them for all their physical and emotional needs. They don't worry or fret about what tomorrow will bring. They trust that someone will always take care of them. We should strive to develop a loving and trusting relationship with God, and we should be confident that He has our lives in His control. We should not be overly concerned when things don't work out like we think they should; accepting God's will in our lives is part of being a child of God.
Be assured that whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.
